Features and Improvements:
The 1001P shares many of the same components with its predecessor, the Eee PC 1005PE. The 1001P is a lower-cost version of the 1005PE Seashell and is having a similar clamshell chassis while offering different lid design.
A good improvement on the netbook compared to the last in its range is the easy-access RAM cover. If you need to upgrade the RAM in your Eee PC 1001P, you have to remove one screw on the back panel.
The LED-backlit display panel supports a 1024 x 600 native resolution. The notebook display offers great color saturation and contrast.
The Eee PC 1001P’s audio performance and built-in speaker quality is good enough for a 10-inch netbook. The speakers produce enough volume to fill a regular room, but it lack bass.
The 1001P’s biggest advantage is the new chipset paired with the N450, and this is very power-efficient. ASUS claims that the 1001P will last an estimated 11 hours of runtime while running with the battery.
Overall, the 1001P provides a great value for its cost.
